The seasoned arbitration attorney recently celebrated his 80th birthday at the Wood + Lamping offices in downtown Cincinnati.
Harold G. Korbee, known better to many as Hal, recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a fun, golf-themed cake at Wood + Lamping in downtown Cincinnati, where he has practiced law for nearly 40 years. A graduate of local institutions of higher education with a B.S. in Political Science from Xavier University (1961) and a J.D. from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law (1963), Hal has made a career in civil litigation, arbitration, and the mediation of claims. He’s been a member of the American Arbitration Association since 1965, and he is licensed to practice state and federal law in Ohio and the United States Supreme Court. He joined Wood + Lamping in 1980 as a managing partner and head of the Litigation and Labor Departments, a role he maintained for 28 years. He was also chair to these departments from 1987–1993 and again in 2003. Hal also has a deep portfolio of professional activism, having served previously as the president of the Lawyers Club of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
In 2013, Hal was invited to join the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and in 2014 he was the recipient of the annual John P. Kiely Professionalism Award from the Cincinnati Bar Association in recognition of outstanding trial skills, high ethical standards, and professional decorum. He was also named an Ohio Super Lawyer® every year from 2006–2013.
Hal now lives in Estero, Florida, and West Chester, Ohio, with his wife Carol and has been Of Counsel to Wood + Lamping since 2008. When he’s not working, Hal is involved in several church and community organizations and is an avid golfer. Wood + Lamping is grateful to Hal for his many years of superior leadership and service. Happy birthday, Hal!
